Your resource for roller mill technology

Modern Process Equipment (MPE) has the right roller mill to meet your specific applications. Using the latest technological advancements in roller mill technology, MPE Gran-U-Lizer™ series precisely grinds materials down a wide range of sizes, from 4 to 325 mesh (4,000 to 50 microns), with minimal "off spec" material. MPE's Gran-U-Lizers produce uniform grind sizes, with minimal generation of "fines," for thousands of applications throughout the world. MPE has earned the reputation as the place to go to maximize yields and reduce fines for a variety of food, chemical and mineral products.

Take a look at what MPE's grinding equipment can do for you.

In an MPE roller mill Gran-U-Lizer, the product passes between a series of precisely-machined pairs with an adjustable gap between them. After passing through, the ground material falls into the next set. The total number of roller mill sets depends on the material properties and degree of particle size reduction required. Typically, the number of roll sections varies from one to four pairs.

As the material falls between the "nip" point of each roll section, it is crushed into progressively smaller particles. Uniform, ground particles are then gravity discharged from the bottom.

Roller Mill Technology – Laser Particle Size Analysis

The 1042 and 1052 Series are the largest roller mill Gran-U-Lizers™ offered by MPE. Typical machines have one to four vertically-stacked roll sections, where each section contains the optimal combination of roll teeth, roll speeds and roll gap to maximize your product yield.

The IMD 99, 89 and 69 series Gran-U-Lizers typically have one to four vertically-stacked roll sections. Each roll section contains the optimal combination of roll teeth, speeds and gap to maximize your product yield.

The Model 800 F Series Gran-U-Lizers typically have one to five vertically-stacked roll sections. Each section contains the optimal combination of roll teeth, speeds and gap to maximize your product yield.

The Model 600 F and 700 F Series Gran-U-Lizers are nearly identical in construction, with the exception of roll length. Typical machines have one to three vertically-stacked roll sections, where each section contains the optimal combination of roll teeth, speeds and gap to maximize your product yield.

MPE also offers Disc-Style Grind Designs

Disc Style LumpBuster

MPE Disc-Style Grinders provides a high degree of versatility in the particle size reduction of a broad spectrum of materials. These compact, economical grinders serve a variety of grinding applications, including chemicals, dry foods, food aggregates, minerals, spices and a wide assortment of similar materials.

Ruggedly-constructed, MPE's Disc-Style Grinders feature "diamond hard" grinding discs that are precision cut to optimize their cutting "action", resulting in a better end product with an increased production capability. This "action" produces results superior to a hammermill at a fraction of the price. The disc grinders work best on "friable", or breakable, materials and adjust to deliver target sizes from 6 – 150 mesh (3,000 – 100 microns).

MPE's LumpBuster Designs grind large material lumps down to one inch or less in size.

This low-energy, low-speed grinding equipment grinds large friable products, from 2" – 36" diameter, down to 1" or less. The slow rotating single or double-shaft LumpBusters gently break apart large material chunks without the generation of excess fine particles that are typically associated with high-impact reduction methods. Consequently, less heat is introduced into the product, less fines or dust is created and equipment wear concerns are minimized.
