MPE Introduces the New Granola Gran-U-Lizer™

(Chicago, IL) Modern Process Equipment Corporation (MPE), the world’s leading manufacturer of precision particle reduction equipment, announces the Model 88 WC Granola Gran-U-Lizer™ (grinder). This innovative unit utilizes water-cooled rollers and a proprietary tooth profile to cut and tear granola into a variety of grind profiles that are much more targeted than those produced on conventional hammermills. The 88 incorporates a new design that eliminates the need for screens and simplifies the production process.

How it works: The process is simple, yet highly effective. The Granola Gran-U-Lizer feeds material from a surge hopper into the roller grinding sections via a feeder system and, naturally, gravity. Once the material enters the parallel rolls of the grinding section, the self-cleaning teeth fracture and break apart the fragile granola material. Unlike other impact grinders, the Gran-U-Lizer introduces minimal energy and no heat to the grinding process and, as a result, the product consistency is completely controllable and the grind is uniform with very few "fines" (or dust). The uniform, low-temperature grind is then gravity-discharged from the bottom of the Gran-U-Lizer.

Typical capacities range from 1,000 – 4,000 lbs/hr., depending on the grind size setting. Larger and smaller versions are also available. Please contact MPE for further information.
